Best Theme Parks in Southern California

Posted On: 02/04/2020

You’ll never run out of things to do in Southern California. From beaches to Hollywood to shopping, there’s so much to do and see. And of course there are several of the world’s most famous theme parks in the Los Angeles area.

If you can only plan a day in the LA, there’s no better way to spend it than at an amusement park. Scream on a roller coaster or spend time with beloved characters. Los Angeles and Orange County have theme parks to suit any personality. From parents with kids to teenagers to couples looking for a day of fun, there’s an amusement park out there for you.

Theme parks are just a short drive away from most major hotels, and you can book transportation from hotels with Karmel Shuttle or tour packages with Extreme Tours.

Here are just a few of our favorite theme parks in California:

  1. Disneyland
Disneyland, of course, is the standard for all theme parks in Los Angeles and the world. Disneyland offers family fun as well as big thrills. There’s a little something for everybody: roller coasters, stage shows, fireworks, kid-friendly rides, and beloved Disney character. The resort also offers Disney California Adventure and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You can book Disneyland tour packages today.
  2. Universal Studios
The original movie-themed amusement park, Universal Studios Hollywood is actually located on the grounds of an active film and television studio. There’s great rides fueled by movie memories and familiar properties like Transformers, The Simpsons, Jurassic World and Despicable Me. Though, the biggest draw, of course, is now the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Book a shuttle package to Universal Studios today.
  3. Knott’s Berry Farm
Located in Buena Park, Knott’s Berry Farm is an old school, classic theme park. It has a great combination of rides for younger kids and white-knuckle thrill rides for big kids. Knott’s Berry Farm has lots of kid-friendly Snoopy tie-ins as well as great holiday events like Knott’s Scary Farm. Book a Knott’s Berry Farm shuttle package today.
  4. Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia is the best park for stomach churning, heart pumping roller coasters. The park has the highest concentration of thrill rides in the LA area. Six Flags Magic Mountain is perfect for teens, but may be too raucous for young kids.
  5. Pacific Park
This is a very kid-friendly carnival on the Santa Monica Pier. Pacific Park has a dozen carnival rides overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It offers typical carnival attractions like a Ferris wheel, aquarium, fairground games and cotton candy stands. The attractions may be nothing too special when compared to the other parks in Los Angeles, but you can’t beat that view!

If you’re headed to amusement park in Los Angeles, book a tour package with Extreme Tours or private transportation with Karmel Shuttle.
