Disneyland Vacation Tips

Posted On: 01/17/2020

A trip to Disneyland is a rite of passage for many families. Nothing compares to the first time that you walk down Main Street USA and get a glimpse of Cinderella’s Castle. Before you embark on this magical adventure, be sure to acquaint yourself with these Disneyland tips so that you can make the most of your time at the happiest place on earth.

Rope Drop: You will squeeze more fun into your days if you commit yourself to be at the park when it opens, otherwise known as the rope drop. Keep in mind that you will spend some time waiting in line to go through security prior to entry. For this reason, it is a good idea to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to official park opening.

Hit the Big Attractions First: While you may be tempted to hop on the first ride that you see, it is a better idea to prioritize the most popular attractions first thing in the morning before the crowds build. While at Disneyland Park, this means hitting Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Matterhorn as soon as possible. If you start your day at California Adventure, you will want to head straight to Radiator Springs Racers, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Break Out!, Incredicoaster, Soarin’ Around the World, and Toy Story Mania.

MaxPass: One of the latest Disneyland tips is to spend the extra money to purchase MaxPass. This service allows you to book times to visit the most popular attractions without waiting in line for as long. Current MaxPass prices are $15 per day, per visitor. With MaxPass, you can reserve your slot from the convenience of your smartphone, mitigating wait times. If you do not want to spend the extra money on MaxPass, you can still use the resort’s FASTPASS system to gain access through the use of paper passes.

Book a Private Car: When you have tickets for Disneyland, time is money. You do not want to waste time walking to the parks, trying to navigate the bus system, or deal with parking. A private shuttle service can ensure that you experience the most magic as possible while on your trip to Disneyland. Extreme Tours shuttle offer great services from hotels to Disneyland. Additional shuttle services in Anaheim are available with Karmel Shuttle.

Dine with Characters: If you have young children in your travel party, or if you are young at heart yourself, you are going to want to meet some of your favorite Disney characters while in the parks. One of the best ways to do this is to book a character meal. There are various themed meals at both Disney parks and at the three onsite hotels, making it easy for you to find the perfect meal for your tastes and scheduling needs. A character meal allows you to meet characters, get autographs, and pose for pictures without having to stand in the lines at the parks. Scheduling a breakfast before the park opens is a fun way to get a jump start on your day.
