LAX Holiday Travel Tips
Posted On: 11/14/2019You may be doing some traveling this holiday season. If you plan on traveling to or from LAX, you need to be prepared for the massive crowds that will be going in and out of the airport. Fortunately, there are some things that you can do to make traveling easier. Here are some holiday travel tips for those traveling to or from LAX.
Give Yourself Extra Time
Even if you traveled to LAX many times in the past, you will find that it may be busier than you’ve ever seen it before. This is why you need to give yourself a bit of extra time. It will take longer to get your luggage from baggage claim and move through the airport to get to the exit. Don’t schedule someone to pick you up right after you get off of the plane. If you are departing from LAX, you need to plan on arriving at least two hours before your flight. This will allow you plenty of time to get through security and to your terminal. You may also want to consider TSA PreCheck. The lines tend to be incredibly short even during the holiday season.
Use An Airport Shuttle
You probably don’t want to deal with the hassle of renting a car or trying to hail down a ride-share driver to get to or from the airport. Because of this, you may want to consider booking a LAX airport shuttle. If you book an airport shuttle with Karmel Shuttle, you won’t have to worry about being inconvenienced like you would with typical shuttle services. They only make limited stops, and you won’t have to experience long travel times like you normally would with another LAX airport shuttle. A shuttle is a great way to not have to deal with navigating hectic Los Angeles traffic.
Try To Travel On Days That Aren’t As Busy
Some days are busier than others at LAX. December 21st, 23rd and 26th tend to be some of the busiest travel days each year. If you can travel on December 25th or 31st, you won’t have to deal with as large of a crowd. You may also find that airfare is a little bit lower if you travel on these days.
Enter The Airport On The Lower Levels
If you are running late and trying to make it to your flight, you need to enter the airport on the lower level. There tends to be less traffic than there is on the upper levels. After you are dropped off, you can easily take the escalators or elevators to the level that you are departing from. Keep in mind that the indoor connectors are currently closed on both the upper and lower levels.
In conclusion, LAX is one of the busiest airports in the world. However, you can make your time at the airport a little bit easier. By utilizing the holiday travel tips mentioned above, you will feel less stressed about your holiday travel plans.
